22.01.11 – Give me a Finnish winter day below freezing as long as the wind has decided to take a break, which it did today. I much rather prefer the snow crunching under my feet than slipping and sliding in the slush. The sun still remains low on the horizon but the days are getting longer which gives you more time to explore and shoot.
I’m loving the Hipstamatic again. It was difficult getting some shots using the app when the weather was worse (see Gently Falling Snow). When the light is just right and you can find some color in this primarily white, snow-covered city, the shots really pop. I’ve also been shooting some black and white shots which you’ll see in upcoming post.
Hope you like them.

Tom,
I love your images using Hipsta… There’s a gallery in New York City that has an annual “Krappy Camera competition. The deadline has past Dec. 31st) but you might want to keep that in mind for the next one. It’s Soho Photo Gallery

That’s great Mary! I do love the Krappy Cameras!
I just checked out the site, very cool. Till next year, when I can submit some pix, I’ll checkout the sight for inspiration. Thanks!
this is awesome! and very interesting. good luck, and keep sharing:)
Tom, which lense do you use??
John S and I think the film was Ina’s 69 or something like that.
good eye.
You sure are good with the Hipstamatic. These are very pretty shots. So many of your Hipstamatic shots look like they should have a back story.
Another great set of pics! Love the middle one. I’m sure I’m drawn to it because of the tree. Can’t wait to see the b/w!
