03.09.10 – It’s common to see guys in uniform on the streets of Helsinki because every man over the age of 18 has to serve a mandatory military service in Finland. What is unusual is to see them “panhandling” on the corners. Actually they are doing something better than panhandling. All week on almost every corner in downtown Helsinki there are soldiers collecting money for war invalids. Max and I have been making regular donations đŸ˜‰
