16.02.11 – Seeing a wall plastered with promotional flyers can be like graffiti to me. When done right it can look pretty cool. It’s not often in Helsinki, but every once in a while I run across some hip and creative flyers which are most likely created by young artists promoting something they love; music and parties. There’s something about the raw in your face message which appeals to me. A couple of people banging out a flyer in a couple of days rather than a marketing department working through several revisions hoping to get Sales and Legal sign-off.
Helsinki is a nice, clean and orderly city. This wall seemed like an “approved” place to post event flyers.

Tom, I agree with all you just said…hip, raw, in your face way to express oneself, Finland-style. That’s great! It reminds me of all the posters plastered all over Park City, Utah for Sundance Film Festival.
well said.
Dave, are those your feet???
i think so… i would consult your little sister for a positive i.d.
Dave, I think you need to explain that one to Tom, haha!!
Yup, I’m kind a lost.
Long, long ago, when Cici was really little, maybe 7 or 8 years old, she went with Dave to pick me up from work at Avon Oaks CC. Dave drove a different way than Mom used to drive and it spooked her (she and Jackie watched way too many scary movies). She asked Dave if it was really him. You have to hear Cici tell the story because she laughs hysterically at how scary it was. When I told her last year that I had heard from Dave, it was the first thing she remembered. They tease each other back and forth about it now. Their little inside joke.
Too funny! Cici, if you read this you have to tell me sometime when we skype.
